2014 RAM 1500

For class-leading towing, look no further than the 2014 RAM 1500. With its base engine out towing the competition, this performance-minded truck can handle up to 7,450 pounds. That's enough to handle any job thrown at it, whether it's a tough construction job or hauling the boat to the dock for some weekend fun in Pacific.

This performance is delivered by a 305-horsepower Pentastar V6 engine. Active grille shutters, most commonly found in semi trucks, cool the engine when the 2014 Ram 1500 is producing unusual amount of heat from hauling a large load or climbing a steep grade. One major mechanical change for 2014 is a spruced-up eight-speed TorqueFlite 8 transmission; Ram engineers added a more robust parking gear for the drivers who must park their truck with a trailer on a steep grade.

An amazing towing capacity isn't the only reason there is buzz surrounding the 2014 Ram 1500 though. New for this year, the highly-anticipated 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel version is being released. This truck is in a class by itself, no other truck even comes close to its numbers. The 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is a two-wheel drive, two-door, long bed version that tows 9,200 pounds while delivering an equally impressive 25 MPG on the highway.

Its appearance is similar to that of last year's model, having received a major makeover for the 2013 model year. The exterior is still handsome and masculine. The front grille is tall with quad halogen headlights and LED taillights, all standard. LED indicators and side markers are optional. Also convenient for work-related activities, it has available rain-sensing windshield wipers and power-folding mirrors. See it at Dave Sinclair Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
